Appointments
Appointments System
The practice is open 08:00 to 18:00 Monday through Friday, outwith public holidays.
Details of public holidays and any other practice closures are on the Practice Newsfeed.
If you need to call for health advice when the practice is closed you should call 111, or in an emergency 999.
We provide telephone, face to face and video appointments with the healthcare team at the practice. Video consultations can only be offered using the NHS Scotland NearMe service. Click here for an information leaflet.
Some appointments are reserved for on-the-day bookings and some can be booked in advance,
If you want an on-the-day appointment, please call as close to 08:00 as possible as demand will always exceed supply.
The phone system is at its busiest at 08:00 so it is best to call after 9am when booking a consultation in advance.
All the permanent GPs at the practice offer a limited number of telephone consultations just before or just after the practice doors open. While the availability varies from week to week they are scheduled on Tuesday through Friday mornings and Tuesday through Thursday afternoons.
Assessment of skin problems: as part of a telephone consultation, we can review photos of skin problems. Please note we will only review photos that have been submitted by prior arrangement.
Home visits: if you are housebound, please arrange a telephone consultation in the first instance. If needed, a house visit can be arranged by the health professional you speak to.
Continuity of Care
Patients are free to consult the health professional of their choice. We like to offer patients flexibility to choose which doctor or nurse they wish to see, recognising that individuals offer differing consulting styles, and differing areas of special interest and expertise. We also recognise that patients may prefer to see a male, or female doctor about some complaints. We do, however, strongly encourage patients to see their usual doctor or nurse for management and review of long-term conditions.
Chaperones
If you feel it is appropriate, you may ask your doctor for a chaperone to be present during your consultation or examination.
Interpreter
Translation for Non English Speaking Patients
An interpreter service is available without charge for our patients. Patients must ask for this at the time of booking their appointments so this can be arranged in time. Assistance can be obtained at the reception to help you identify the specific language you require.
